Ben started his career at Transport for London where he was involved in projects including the mayor’s strategy for electric vehicles and preparing the transport system for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games. Following a period in the Cabinet Office, he joined the Cities and Local Growth Unit in 2014, leading the negotiation of transport policy devolution with cities and regions across England. He is currently Head of Infrastructure in the Cities and Local Growth Unit. His team aims to ensure local economic growth objectives are embedded into the planning and delivery of infrastructure projects, including major schemes such as HS2, East-West Rail and the Oxford-Cambridge Expressway.
