Richard is a workplace strategist with over 25 years experience in leading and developing successful property transformation interventions for central government. Principal architect of the Government’s The Way We Work (TW3) smart working initiative, a game-changer programme for reforming the Civil Service and co-author of the seminal publications: Working Without Walls and its sequel Working Beyond Walls.
Most recently working with BSI, the business standards company, to develop PAS 3000:2015 Smart Working, a code of practice to help all organisations in the implementation of Smart Working; the foundation for a new Strategy for Smart Working in Government. Much of his focus has been setting the vision and policy for the Government Hubs programme to ensure they are truly great places to work.
He has worked with most government departments, central policy makers, the property industry as partners and suppliers, academia and professional bodies; transforming the way we work in government to help government departments improve their efficiency and performance to save the taxpayer money.

Despite the opportunities offered by new ways of working and an ongoing digital revolution, there remains a significant degree of under-utilisation of new more agile paths to working and smarter ways of managing the estate. For this panel, participants will discuss:
