Tall buildings to deliver 100,000 homes
London is set to deliver over 100,000 new homes as it begins to build a number of tall buildings across the city.
According to New London Architecture (NLA), the Tall Buildings Survey revealed that there are now 510 tall buildings in the construction pipeline, up from 455 in 2016. Of the 510 planned buildings, 90% are earmarked for residential use and have the potential to house 106,000 new homes.
In terms of distribution, almost a third of the entire pipeline will be in zones 3, 4 and 5 close to areas of opportunity with developing transport connections.
With London’s increasing population the new buildings will provide some desperately needed housing, and effectively utilise finite land resources. Read more here
