Beckett Telecom and Hillingdon Hospital Services

Hillingdon Hospitals services are provided from both Hillingdon Hospital and Mount Vernon Hospital. The Trust has a turnover of around £222 million and employs over 3,300 staff.

Delivering high quality healthcare to the residents of the London Borough of Hillingdon, and increasingly to those living in the surrounding areas of Ealing, Harrow, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire, giving a total catchment population of over 350,000 people.

Due to the expansion of the services patients and customers demand, the Trust chose Becketts through a competitive tender through RM1045, to replace their telephony solution.

Our solution provided the Trust with significant licencing and ongoing cost savings compared to traditional & hosted manufacturers (between 50% and 300%) as well as easy integration inbuilt video, IM, voicemail, call centre and Auto attendant functionality.

Becketts solution of provided the Hospitals with a fully featured IP and analogue solution with manufacturer support and Integration to the existing Siemens, Unify and Cisco infrastructure to allow a managed and phased migration.

Becketts have since delivered 2,500 IP handsets and 300 analogue extensions to the Trust, migrated  existing ISDN lines to SIP and provided database integration.

More excitingly parts of the Trust are now investigating how to use the inbuilt UC in a medical environment to aid patient interaction and allow staff to work remotely – for example using inbuilt video calls through desktop and remote devices to allow patients to contact their support workers without the need to travel long distances.
